A Not-So-Happy New Year

Our New Year's didn't go as planned. A night over at Tatum and Jose's house with my parents, and her parents celebrating 2008 after the kids went to bed was suppose to be how it went. But how many times do you say your plans don't always go as planned when kids are involved? We were just starting to enjoy ourselves when Carson woke up trying to cry and breathe and couldn't. We rushed him to the ER where they treated him for Croup by giving him a breathing treatment and a steriod shot. We are still trying to get it under control. We made a trip to the doctor's office today where they gave him another breathing treatment and the oral version of the steriod. We are hoping that gets him over the hump and on his way to feeling better. I guess this is a New Year's we will never forget. Unfortunately it won't be one of our fondest memories.

After a trip to the ER we made it home in time to watch the ball drop. Who would have thought both boys would have been awake for that?
Here is a sick little boy who is completely exhausted from the night. I laid him there long enough to brush my teeth and I came back to see him sleeping.
