Christmas '09

We had wonderful Christmas!  We were so blessed to be surrounded by all of our family, had lots of laughter, and created many memories that we will cherish forever.  I think the boys are very happy with all of their toys.  They haven't stopped playing with them for the last 2 days and I have spent 2 days trying to organize our house.  All of our photos are in the web albums. 

If there was one thing Carson wanted for Christmas it was a new Dinosaur that walked and roared (he already had one that he got LAST Christmas but over the summer he thought it needed some sand in it and it quit working...he was devestated).  He was sooooo happy when Santa left a new one under the tree.

I sometimes think Camden is a lot like his Uncle Drew through his demeanor, and both boys look up to him.  Camden thought it was so cool that they had the same coat (on accident).

Winter Wonderland

We woke up Tuesday morning to see it snowing! We ate breakfast and then got the boys dressed to go play in it. Chris is home on Tuesday mornings so they got lots of "Daddy time" outside while I stayed in with Cooper. Then when I sent Cooper out for awhile Carson came in to warm up a little but wanted to go back out when he saw Camden and Daddy making a snowman. When they all finally came in, Camden said, "We did everything your suppose to do in the snow...we made snow angels, had a snowball fight, built a snow castle, and made a snowman!" He couldn't have been happier. That kid is so warm-blooded that he could probably play out in the snow all day.

Cooper's getting his first snow angel lesson. He is trying to move his legs back and forth. He can't walk in the snow in his boots so mostly he sits at the picnic table or in the snow and tries to play a little. This is such a hard age because he wants to be outside (especially when he sees his brothers out the window or door) but once he is all bundled up he can't do much.

Cooper wanted to play on the swing set. I guess it is never too cold to do that. It was such a pretty day.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town...

Well, we (I mean Chris, Camden, and Carson) stood out in the cold and snow with lists in hand for the long awaited visit with the Big Man. The big boys couldn't wait to see Santa and boy did they talk his ear off. This year's visit had about a 66% success rate. Poor Cooper just didn't care to be anywhere near him.

Not a very cute Santa...matter of fact, Camden said it wasn't Santa and that he had to be one of his helpers. I agreed. (my camera was fogging up from the cold weather).

This is about how I thought the picture would turn out. There is hope for Cooper. Maybe next year...Carson was 2 when he decided Santa was a good man. Camden (who does not have as much trust in other people) waited until 3 before he liked Santa.

Camden's Christmas Program

All of their practice paid off. The Christmas Program was so cute and the kiddos did such a great job. Hats off to all of the teachers who put a lot of hard work into it. The program had 2 "acts" to it. The first act was the Christmas Story and the second "act" was Rudolph's story.

Such a cute wise man he made. (Side note: The purple wiseman, James, is actually 2 months younger than Camden.  We might have to turn these wisemen into future Miller guards and a center.)

Snow Day!!!!

The best thing that could have happened this week in the boys' eyes was for it to snow. They have been waiting and waiting to wear their snow pants and snow boots. They came home from school on Monday and went straight out to play. You would have thought there were 2 feet of snow outside. And Cooper even went out to play. He wasn't going to let his brothers do something he wasn't. That was too bad for Mommy because that meant I had to go out as well. The only way to get Cooper back in was to tell him I was going to feed him lunch. However, I'm so glad that we have reached a point where the boys actually play outside in the snow longer than it takes to get them dressed for the big event.

The Big Snowball Fight!

Cooper's first experience in the snow. He loved just walking around the deck because he could hear the snow crunch under his feet.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was quite a treat this year. Grandpa and Tootie were up from Florida this year to celebrate it with us. It was a full house because we also had my Uncle Guy's (my dad's brother) family from Greenwood. I am so thankful we were all able to be together. I think we all had a good time.

Another treat were the turkey sugar cookies on a stick.

Cooper has never tasted anything so good (he didn't eat any of his birthday cake). He was in heaven being able to walk around and eat at the same time.

By the end of the night Cooper had warmed up to Grandpa a little more.  The key to holding Cooper is to have his blankie.  

Party Like It's Your (First) Birthday...

To have the party or not to have the party?  That was the big question of the weekend.  With Cooper still sick we weren't sure it would be in the best interest for Cooper and for everyone attending to still have the party.  When I thought his fever was breaking and he was starting to feel better I went ahead and made the cake on Sat. afternoon.  He still wasn't feeling up to par on Sunday but he did very well during his party.  He wasn't much into his cake but seemed to have fun with his new toys.

Cooper went for his one year old check-up this morning.  Poor Cooper doesn't want to see the doctor anytime soon.  He did not like her invading his personal space and on top of that she did a strep test which requires swabbing the back of the throat.  That didn't go over well with him either.  Luckily she is very quick and it took no time at all.  When I took his clothes off to be weighed he had a rash all over his abdomen that she thought might be strep related and he had a red throat.  Thankfully that came back negative.  For now he just has some viral infection and sometimes a rash shows up at the end of the sickness.  Hopefully he is on the mend and we won't have to go back on Wednesday.  As for his well-baby check-up...he is doing great!  He weighed 20 lbs. 8 oz. (25%) and was 31 inches (80%).   

Workout buddies...

Chris is always saying that he would do much better if he had a workout partner. Well now he does. Carson loves to "workout" with Chris and actually does pretty well with the chin-up. Apparently Carson works out best in his underwear only AND on backwards. Don't ask me why he doesn't have any clothes on. He's Carson and he's 3...I pick my battles.

About a month ago, I took the boys to the park to take some pictures. Cooper wasn't cooperating so most of them were of Camden and Carson.

Last Weekend...

Last weekend we celebrated Bennett's first birthday on Sat. The party was filled with lots of little kids, presents, and a giant cupcake cake for Bennett. Bennett doesn't like getting his hands dirty so being the smart little one year old he is, he decided to just suck the icing off the cake. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. On Sunday Chris and I attended the Colts game with my parents. This was our first time in Lucas Oil Sadium. We were amazed at the building. It is pretty awesome and it was such a nice day out that they were able to leave the roof open. Thank goodness they pulled out a win, so hopefully we will be invited back again sometime. Thank you Mom and Dad for taking us and a great BIG thanks to Tatum and Jose and Abby and Zach who so willingly watched our boys for us. As much as we love our boys it was nice to get away.
