On Saturday my mom celebrated her 50th birthday! She didn't know it but she was in for an exciting weekend. It all got started Sat. morning when Abby, my mom, and I met for breakfast at Three Sisters in Broad Ripple. Then we headed off to get pampered with pedicures and manicures. Later that night she was surprised with a birthday celebration with friends and family at the Wildkat Banquet Hall. The night was a lot of fun and included good food, a poem/toast about my mom from my dad, music, laughing, and a new bike! For the complete album of the weekend check out the web albums.

The birthday celebration continued on Sunday with another surprise...a hot air balloon ride! My mom, dad, Carol and Jay (friends of theirs) took a hot air balloon ride over Noblesville. So we went over to watch them set up the balloon and take off. We could even see them from our house. I talked with my dad while they were in the basket and we got to see them land at a very unusual landing spot...the jail's parking lot. The whole process was really neat to watch, and the boys were in awe of the balloon.
